Once Upon A Time
19 years ago...I used to shoot pool at a bar named Breakers. One day, they had a sign that said freeroll poker on Mondays at 8 PM. I asked how much it cost. She said, "oh, it's free". I knew it was too good to be true because poker costs money. Doubting it was free, I showed up the following Monday with $60 in my wallet.
That started my freeroll poker-playing hobby, which has become a lifetime career. I met people I had been friends with for many years that day.
After a month of playing, I noticed someone on the sidelines, and all he did was announce the blinds. Who is this, and what is he doing? He must be bored, I thought. I spoke with him, and he helped me learn how he ran the Freeroll Poker League.
Shortly after that, I started going to other venues to try and set up my poker league. I ran freeroll poker games for a while. One way or another, poker has paid my bills since 2005.
